A Few Things I've Done...

Well, it seems that I haven't accomplished much lately.  I have been busy and I have things started all over the place, but... well, all of you other hookers out there know how it is.  I start something and get bored with it, or I think of something else I just have to make right now... ah well, my life is one giant WIP!!!

Anyway, I thought I would share with all of you a few things I actually got done!

These are wall decorations I made for my sixteen-year-old daughter's bedroom.  They were made using foam board, scrapbooking paper, stickers, a few of the little wooden odds and ends from the craft store, a couple of silk flowers, duck tape, and mod podge.   The expense was minimal, but the results are awesome and, best of all, my darling daughter absolutely loves them!!!

Now, the picture frames below were plain, wooden ones I found at Micheals for $1 on sale.  I covered these in more of the scrapbooking paper, added a few stickers, trimmed them out in some awesome tye-dye print duck tape, and voila!  They look great on my daughter's wall!!!

So, what do you think?

I have also just finished up a purse/tote swap on Crochetville.  I was not really happy with the purse I created.  I loved the style (I used turtlelvrs Stash Buster Tote pattern with several adjustments), but didn't care for the colors when it was finished.  Unfortunately, I was out of time and had to send it anyway.  Here is a picture of the completed purse.  It is pink, purple, and white although my daughter tells me that depending on the light it looks orange, blue, and white.

I also made my partner a pair of crocheted earrings.  I have never made any before, but I really like the way they turned out.  Next time, however, I will have to find a better stiffening agent.  These are black and pink.

I also included this scrubby as an extra.  This is one of my favorite quick and easy projects.  You can find the pattern by dorothysgirls here.

Finally, here is a picture of the other goodies I included in the package.

It was a really fun swap!

So, what do you think of everything?

  1. I love the colors of the purse, it is hanging on one of my shelves in the craft room, it looks purple pink and white to me.
The earrings are on my earring tree in the bedroom :)

No ideas yet for the yarn, but I know I won't have problems using it!

    Thanks so much!

    Hugs, Laurel
