A Pretty Flowered Headband

I won't even get into the politics of last night except to say that I was bitterly disappointed with the election results,  BUT I used the time while I was waiting for said results wisely and wanted to share pictures of what I did with all of you.

Let me start by saying that my oldest sister is always on the lookout for crochet projects she thinks I should try.  She went to a local craft show and found a scarf and some headbands which she purchased and brought home for me to look at.  Right away, I realized that the pattern of the headbands was very similar to a free pattern I had been eyeing on Ravelry and wanting to try.  I told her I would see what I could do.  Anyway, last night afforded me the perfect opportunity, and I think it turned out pretty well, especially considering it was a first attempt at the pattern.

For those of you who are interested, you can find the pattern I used here!

I need to say a big thank you to my unwilling model in the first picture.  My dear daughter was home from work sick today, and the last thing she wanted to do was allow me to take her picture when she "looked sick and awful", but she gave in and I love her for it!  Thank you Baby.  :)

A Swap Teaser...

Hello again.  So, I am currently signed up for two swaps on Crochetville, the 2012 Stocking Stuffer Swap in which I am lucky enough to be paired up with Angelfire, and the 2012 Holiday Gift Exchange in which my partner is none other than GrammyRoberts!  I have been hard at work stalking posts and planning packages and wanted to give everyone (except you Bonnie aka Angelfire) a sneak peek at the stocking in progress for the Stocking Stuffer Swap.  Here is a picture taken yesterday afternoon.  It has actually come a long way since I took this, but I really don't want to give to much away just yet...

So, with the stocking almost done, I am turning my attention to deciding what I should stuff it with.  I have some ideas formulating in my head, but I am still trying to finalize a plan.

For GrammyRoberts' swap package, on the other hand, I admit to still being completely clueless.  I have some VERY general ideas as to what I want to do, but I think I have a long road ahead on that particular package.  Wish me luck please!!!

A New Hook, RAOKS, and What I'm Doing Now

A New Hook

I AM SO EXCITED!!!

I won my first Jimbo hook in the auction he just had and WOW! is it beautiful!!!  Jimbo, you are incredible!!!  Take a look at this beautiful thing!!!

It is a size L and feels wonderful in my hand.  I haven't had an opportunity to work with it yet, but am very much looking forward to doing so this weekend.  If there is anyone reading this who is unfamiliar with Jimbo's work, check him out here!

RAOKS

So, I listed a few wants on the Crochetville winter/holiday wish list this morning, and I have already been gifted, not once but twice!!!  Here are links to the wonderful patterns I have received from two VERY GENEROUS elfs!!!  Thank you again!!!

The first will be a gift for my daughter.  I hope to get it done in time for Christmas but I am so backed up right now I don't know whether or not I will make it...

What I am doing now...

So, you say, what are you working on now???  Unfortunately, my crochet time has been rather limited lately due to work and school.  I am working on a gift for my mom - see the pattern here, and a baby blanket of my own design.  I am also trying to get some hairbows made for my sweet little granddaughter,
Maraya
and blankets made for both of my grandsons,

Brennan
&

Colton

I also joined the 2012 Stocking Stuffer Swap and am planning a FABULOUS swap package for my awesome partner!!!  So excited about that!!!

I will post pictures of some of my projects very soon.  Please check back!

Hugs to you,
Christie
